Welcome To the Tarantula Farm:
An Introduction of Sorts

Sweating bullets in my girlfriend's dorm, I loaded google and typed the phrase, "UA status penalties". My leave had expired the day before and the folks back on the ship had assailed my phone all morning to let me know. None of the results I found did anything to allay the fear that taking the first step onto the ship that night would also be the first step I took to restriction, reduction in rank, and all manner of other not-very-cool...ed....ness....es.

But all of a sudden, a single thought punched a hole in the face of my anxiety:

"Relax! All of this is temporary; You're not going to be in the military forever."

I leaned back against the couch and stared ahead of me, wide-eyed as I let the notion bounce around my head.

That's right! I'm NOT! This is just a job; This isn't my life!

It was a tremendous rush of freedom.

What was it, exactly, that triggered that little ray of sunshine? For the past week, I've been developing my own RPG project with a program called RPG Maker VX. I've been learning scripts, designing maps, writing dialogue and letting my imagination run wild. I posted a demo on YouTube and when I'd checked it earler that same mornng, I got some very inspiring comments, a nice amount of views, and a 4/5 rating.

It's something I've always had passion for since the day I picked-up an Atari controller.

That single moment on that day when I sat alone in my lady's dorm and stressed about what was to come was the deciding factor.

I know what I want to be when I grow up.

I've decided that I'd start this blog to keep documented updates on my current projects and for anything game-related from reviews, previews, thoughts and opinions, to shameless ramblings. I want to break into the gaming industry by any means possible and I want Tarantula Farm to become a household name; The standard in video games.

And I want YOU to come along for the ride!

How does an every-day, average Joe break into the industry and build an empire from the ground, up?

I'm just as anxious to know as you are and maybe in the coming years, we'll both have that answer.

Thanks for readng,
